Breakfast seminar on tech sector-adapted education

Welcome to a breakfast seminar on industry-adapted education.

The tech sector urgently needs industry-adapted education. How could education be reformed to meet the skills needed in the future?

The Swedish labour market suffers from a shortage of qualified competence, where the digital sector stands out with an estimated deficit of 70 000 ICT experts in 2022. The publicly financed education sector is not alone capable of delivering the competence needed. Is it time to break up the monolithic education system and put all professionally oriented education on the market, including academic education?

The seminar is a co-arrangement between Business Region Göteborg, University of Gothenburg and Swedish IT and Telecom Industries (IT&Telekomföretagen) and a part of Gothenburg Tech Week.

Föreläsare: Fredrik von Essen, Public Affairs Expert at IT&Telekomföretagen Beatrice Silow, Manager of Communication and Culture at Sigma IT Consulting, and Fredrik Paring, CEO of Cilbuper IT Johan Magnusson, Associate Professor at the University of Gothenburg Members of parliament Anna Johansson from the Social Democratic Party and Michael Svensson from the Moderate (conservative) Party
