  • Students from Software Engineering and Management win NASA Space Apps Challenge

    [14 May 2013] Nico Boh, Patrik Bäckström and James Omoya, students at the Software Engineering and Management bachelor's programme at University of Gothenburg, were appointed winners of NASA's Space Apps Challenge in Gothenburg last week. Their concept of "Greener Cities" will now be judged by an international jury.

    [10 Apr 2013] Twenty students from the Master programme in interaction design and technologies are presenting their research at the Student Interaction Design Research (SIDeR) Conference in Aarhus. The conference, which runs from April 9 to 10, is an international forum where students of interaction design can showcase their research and exchange ideas.

  • Gothenburg University Scientists to Develop Pedagogical Robots

    [8 Mar 2013] Can robots improve teaching in schools? This is something that Dr. Wolmet Barendregt, senior lecturer at the Department of Applied IT at the University of Gothenburg, will investigate together with researchers from four countries in the research project EMOTE, which is financed by European Union. Over the next three years, the researchers will work to develop, apply and evaluate whether robots with the ability to interpret and act on emotions can contribute to the learning of school children.

  • New honorary doctor at the IT Faculty: Professor Sirkka Jarvenpaa

    [4 Jun 2012] Professor Sirkka Jarvenpaa, McCombs School of Business, University of Texas, has been appointed as 2012's honory doctors at the IT Faculty, University of Gothenburg. Professor Jarvenpaa is the James Bayless/Rauscher Pierce Refsnes Chair in Business Administration and is one of the most prolific scholars in the field of information systems.
