The IT University is a hub for collaboration within ITC and related fields in the Gothenburg region. The IT University provides an overview of new and existing collaboration between academia, industry and society.

Collaboration within ITC and related fields at Lindholmen:

Lindholmen has become the most knowledge-intensive and expansive area in Gothenburg, and an important hub for the expanding city. Some 30,000 people now spend time here every day, a figure that is expected to double over the next five years.

  • Closer

    CLOSER is a Swedish platform for collaboration, knowledge and innovation for increased transport efficiency. The results of our work are new solutions for the freight transport system needed to build a sustainable society.
  • Lindholmen Science Park

    Lindholmen Science Park AB is jointly owned by Chalmers University of Technology, the City of Gothenburg and the business community. For almost 20 years, owners and partners have worked together to invest and purposefully develop a modern and inspiring innovation environment for several of Sweden’s leading development projects.
  • Media & democracy

    Media & democracy is a national innovation and research programme to strengthen journalism, public discourse and democracy. Media players, academia and public institutions drive experimental innovation and research to produce and spread new knowledge and innovations. Collaboration takes place with Lindholmen Science Park’s development environment as a neutral base.
  • Security Arena Lindholmen

    Security Arena Lindholmen is a national arena for research and development in civil security with the aim of developing new or improved capabilities within the Swedish crisis management system. The projects are conducted in broad collaboration between industry, university and government.
  • SCDI

    Swedish Center for Digital Innovation is a research center consisting of scholars from the University of Gothenburg, Umeå University and Stockholm School of Economics. It offers a unique context for orchestrating close collaboration between researchers, students, and practitioners to help address challenges in practice and advance new theory.
  • Safer

    A competence centre where 38 partners from the Swedish automotive industry, academia and authorities cooperate to create a centre of excellence within traffic safety research and safe mobility.
  • Software Center

    In Software Center, companies and universities work together to accelerate the adoption of novel approaches to software engineering. The cooperation between academia and companies creates the software engineering success stories that the Nordic industry needs.
  • Test Site Sweden

    A neutral arena for cooperation within vehicle, transportation and environmental engineering. Test Site Sweden initiates and develops test and demonstration environments for vehicles in order to support the development of sustainable transport. We are also a partner of the Vinnova program testbeds in environmental engineering.

    The core function of the Urban Safety and Societal Security Research Center is to initiate, facilitate, and broker collaborative research that contributes to counter, reduce, and manage risks, threats, insecurities and vulnerabilities in ways that build a resilient socially inclusive society.
  • Visual Arena

    Visual Arena works to stimulate and strengthen development within and with the aid of visualization. Together with our members and our network, we identify trends, needs and topical questions that should be addressed.
  • Visualization Research Gothenburg

    Visualization Research Gothenburg strengthens, gathers and develops research and teaching in visualization at Chalmers, University of Gothenburg, and Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
